When I found out I was pregnant, I knew I would be up for a whole new life. But when baby Mico finally came, he gave me the most rewarding miracle I have ever seen. Every day I discover new things with him and about him. I thank God everyday for letting me witness the beauty of life and to celebrate this, I'm sharing the most important things I have learned since I became a new mom.
1. No fear - ever!
I'm always afraid of everything. From spiders to cockroaches. From needles to hospitals. From ghosts to brown outs. From getting a new career and moving out to living alone. All that anxiety can actually be minimized and that is what I am doing now. I have to be strong for baby Mico. I cannot be this weak and vulnerble. This is not the time for me to be worrying of what will happen to me but to be a strong mom to my baby and to look forward for happy moments that we are going to share together.
2. Plan ahead even if you have nothing left of you
Baby Mico came around when everything else was a total mess. Our store was closing down because of decreasing cash flow, my savings were draining until I found myself to be totally broke. But it did not stop me from planning what will be good for my baby.
Baby Mico gave me hope and a future when I thought I had no sense of direction.
3. Never accept failure again
I did make a lot of promising mistakes and had a lot of failed commitments and nonachievements in the past. Those things gave me pain, hurt, regrets and more stress. I cannot take any more risk this time. I'll make everything better for my baby. I have to carefully plan every detail of my life with baby Mico.
4. Forgive thyself
Mistakes, regrets and hurt are all in the past. With all that said, I need to forgive myself and take a step forward to move on. I realized life really is too short and in a matter of that short period of time, I have accumulated an enormous misfortune and a heavy heart which was a total waste.
5. Everything can wait even Time the Powerful
I may have left the dishes on the sink, I may not have done the laundry in two days or I may have not finished law school but everything can wait. I want to be there for baby Mico everytime he needs me. I cannot even go to the bathroom for one minute but that is totally fine with me. Everytime I'm with him, time seems to stop for a whole lifetime. I want to show my baby all the love that he needs and deserves and I'm going to take my time.
What have you learned since your baby came into this world? Do you feel the same way I did? Share your thoughts with me. Cheers to new moms!
